Topic: My Family- My Fortress.

Objectives:
-to develop students’ speaking, reading, writing skills;
-to revise grammar- Present simple, Past Simple, Present Continuous;
-to practise making up sentences with the new vocabulary;

Equipment: a tape recorder, flashcards, families’ photos, a pupils’ book, a CD.
Procedure
Introduction.T. We invite you to travel by plane around our families .The topic of our lesson is My Family- my Fortress. The motto of our lesson is “Home is where the hart is”. Why are we going to talk about our families? How can you explain the motto of our lesson?
S1.My home is the place where I live with my family. S2.I’s my home where I’m happy.S3.It’s my family that love me very much. S4. It’s my little sister and good time with her.

My name's Dan and this is my family. I'm standing in front of my dad. He's thirty-two years old. His name is Jack. He's standing between my mum and my Aunt Pam. My dad is three years younger than my mum. Her name is Ella. Aunt Pam is shorter than my mum but she is two years older than her! My brother is called Luke and he's fourteen years old. He's four years older than me. I've got one sister called -Sue. She's taller than me but shorter than my brother.

Some students have prepared reports about their families. (on the blackboard there’s a family tree and students put their family photos on the tree and tell about their families.)
a. Artem’s-family
This is my family .I’ve got a father, a mother and a brother. My dad is 45 but my mum is 40.She is 5 years younger than my dad. I’m in front of my brother. He’s older and taller than me because he’s 20, I’m only 10. In this photo my mum is next to my brother.
b. Zhylin Tolik’s.-brother
My family is big. I’ve got parents and two brothers –Andriy, he is 10 years older than me and my second brother is Oleksiy .He is the same age with me, we are twins. In this photo he is between me and my mum. We are a friendly family.
c. Zhylin Lyosha’s .-granddad.
I want to tell about my granddad. He was 65 years old. In this photo he is 63.my granddad is behind me .He was taller than my father. His name was Oleksiy and I’m Oleksiy too.
d. Stasik’s-sister
Look at the photo of my little sister. In this photo she is only1, but now she is 2. Her name is Sophy, she’s 8 years younger than me. She likes eating, playing and crying. I like to play with my little sister. I love my parents and my little sister Sophy.
e. Yaroslav’s-family
This is my big family. I’m the youngest in my family. My parents aren’t young .My mum is 51 and my dad is 57. I’ve got a sister .She is older than me and my brother is older than my sister and me. We are a good family because we spend much time together. My sister and brother help me in doing my homework. I love all of the members of my family very much.

Homework
Stronger students prepare projects about all the relatives – possessive case, weaker ones – projects about some relatives.

-to practise making up projects; Past Simple questions.
-to practise the vocabulary on the topic;
-to cultivate students’ aesthetic tastes’
-to develop pupils’ creative thinking’
-to develop positive attitude to families, relatives, English;
-to teach students to be interested in the history of their families.
Equipment: a tape recorder, flashcards, families’ photos, a pupils’ book, CD, students’ projects.
Procedure
T. Today we are going to talk about the history of your families, about the relationship between your parents and you. We invite you to the exhibition of the family projects. Then we are going to study how to make up questions in the Past Simple.
Warm- up.

T. The first hall of our exhibition is grammar. To make it easier to ask questions let’s play a game.(the teacher says the verb in the infinitive the students say it in the past, after that they make up sentences with these verbs and put questions.)

Project
This is my cousins’ family. This is their father. His name is Artem, he’s 35. He’s my uncle. He’s taller than my aunt Tetyana. She’s 5 years younger than her husband. She’s on the right in this picture. They’ve got three children – two daughters and a sun. Two daughters’ names are Viky and Kristy. Viky is between the father and her brother Sasha. Sasha is older than Viky and Kristy. He’s 11and his sisters are Viky’s 8 , Kristy’s 6. They are a friendly family. I love this family very much.
T. Today we have visited the exhibition of families projects. You worked very well and now you can tell a foreigner about your families. Your homework will be to write about your plans for the future weekend using sentences with be going to.
Homework. Prepare projects which are close and easy to you. You may choose any you like.
